Steel industry website of the year

The Steelie Awards recognises member companies or individuals for their contribution to the steel industry in a series of categories impacting the steel industry. There were in total seven award categories for 2017 including the category – Steel industry website of the year. Tata Steel bagged the ‘Steel industry website of the year’ award at the 8th Steelie Awards ceremony organised during the worldsteel General Assembly in Brussels, Belgium on October 16, 2017.

Mr. TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel India & SEA, Mr. Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel and Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, Group Director, Corporate Communication & Regulatory Affairs, Tata Steel received the award on behalf of Tata Steel.

The ‘Steel Industry website of the year’ award was based on 5 key criteria: overall design, loading and page delivery, information range and relevance, navigation ease, and use of new technologies. Demonstrating communications excellence, the Tata Steel website (www.tatasteel.com) was a part of the review which takes places for all membership sites by a worldsteel expert panel. External communications experts provide the final judgement on the selection.

Expressing his gratitude on receiving the award, Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, Group Director, Corporate Communication & Regulatory Affairs, Tata Steel, said, “We are honoured to have been recognised at the Steelie Awards ceremony. The award recognises our efforts in creating innovative and effective communication platforms in the digital space. This recognition encourages us to continue our innovation journey to build more effective communication platforms.”
