With the E523.81, Elmos presents a new generation of 3-phase BLDC motor controllers. The IC has the necessary intelligence integrated and does not need any software applications. The adaptation to different motors and requirements is made by parameterizing the IC. Startup is self-explanatory using a wizard tool. The IC allows extremely quiet operation of the motor by the use of a sinusoidal control and is therefore particularly suitable for applications which require inaudible motor noise due to their position in the vehicle.
Due to the space-saving design in the 5mm x 5mm QFN housing, the controller also fits onto very small PCBs of compact fans or pumps. The integrated driver provides continuous currents up to 500mA.
The set rotation speed of the connected motor can be set either by analogue or PWM signal.
The E523.81 has extensive protection and diagnostic functions such as stall detection with automatic restart, over-temperature protection, over- and undervoltage, short-circuit, configurable error handling, and configurable displays.
With a junction tempeature range (Tj) of -40°C to + 170°C, the module is also suitable for applications with increased thermal requirements.
