Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) will be receiving RM 16 Billion and RM 17 Billion respectively through the recently announced 2021 Budget. Both ministries receive an increase in the allocated budget compared to the 2020 budget, demonstrating government’s deep commitments to national security priorities.

Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said his ministry will focus on two main priorities, namely, capacity building and readiness, and the welfare of MAF personnel and veterans.

The allocation includes the acquisition of new assets (RM1.6 billion), maintenance of key assets (RM2.3 billion) and construction of Armed Forces Family Housing (RKAT) (RM500 million). Apart from that, the government would allocate RM27 million to CyberSecurity Malaysia  (CSM) to increase the country’s cybersecurity controls. (Source:http://belanjawan2021.treasury.gov.my/)
